Harbin Engineering provides semiannual groundwater monitoring services for the Eastman Mountain Landfill, a sanitary landfill that closed in 1994. The site contains 24 wells, 18 of which are used for groundwater monitoring and 8 of them strictly for elevation data. In 2010, the lowering of the water table created a pathway for landfill gases and vapors to migrate into the bedrock, resulting in impacts to the groundwater. To aid in the landfills efforts to maintain regulatory compliance, Harbin Engineering provides onsite groundwater sampling and testing during each semiannual monitoring period and prepares the corresponding groundwater monitoring reports.
Harbin Engineering also provides semiannual groundwater monitoring services for the County Farm Road Landfill, an unlined landfill in Pike County that closed in 1994. Groundwater monitoring is conducted in accordance with the facility’s Water Monitoring Plan, the Phase II Work Plan developed by Harbin Engineering, and the facility’s submitted ACM. Currently, 20 groundwater wells are sampled and tested during each semiannual monitoring period, and Harbin Engineering prepares the corresponding semiannual groundwater monitoring reports.
