 A project manager is responsible for executing and leading the full design and permitting process for Municipal Solid   Waste, Construction & Demolition, Industrial and Inert Waste Landfills primarily in Georgia. Experience in design and permitting for transfer stations, waste-to-value facilities, material recovery facilities, composting, and recycling facilities are also beneficial. This position involves non-routine and complex assignments. Project management including management of other staff, contract negotiations, and construction review is required. Ability to ensure that all work meets laws, rules, and regulations necessary for approval by Georgia EPD and local governing authorities as they may apply. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with solid waste engineering experience.


 Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.

 Seven (7) to ten (10) years of project experience in civil, mechanical, environmental, and solid waste engineering.

 Professional Engineer License in the state of Georgia, reciprocity, or transfer of licensure readily available.

 Strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills.

 Works well with others and experienced in overseeing construction projects and design teams.

 Has or can obtain the Georgia Erosion & Sedimentation stormwater certification.

 Able to plan and conduct public meetings.

 Experience developing project budgets and invoicing clients.

 Proficient in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


 The following duties are typical of the position but are not all-encompassing. Exercise of engineering judgment is required on details of work in making design decisions. Perform project management task, oversee project engineers, and review technical aspects. Provide schematic design information to the Principal or Senior Engineer. Coordinate internal design task with other design professionals. Document existing conditions and performing troubleshooting onsite. Attend meetings and produce site observation reports. Prepare or modify reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and design projects.
