Harbin Engineering prepared an updated design and operation plan for Rabun County for the major modification to its C&D Landfill. The major modification for this site included a redesign of the proposed grades to extend the life of the site by implementing a vertical expansion and the addition of waste processing and waste excavation. The design and operation plan was updated to include the new final slopes at 33%. Additionally, Harbin Engineering prepared an updated Closure and Post Closure Plan, Water Monitoring Plan, and Methane Gas Monitoring Plan to comply with the major modification of the C&D Landfill. The plan was approved, and the permit for the major modification was granted in April of 2024.
The projects completed at the Boggs Mountain Road C&D Landfill demonstrate our knowledge, understanding and expertise of solid waste in mountainous regions and ability to address springs and rock outcroppings during construction activities.
